How to Prepare Your Car for a Tune: A Checklist
· 1 min read · PTEB Tuning
A tune can only be as good as the car it's built on. Arriving prepared speeds up the session and protects the result.
The checklist
- Service the car — fresh oil, filters and spark plugs.
- Fix any fault codes and warning lights.
- Check for boost leaks, cracked hoses and exhaust leaks.
- Arrive with the fuel you'll actually run — 98 RON or E85, not a mix.
- Make sure tyres are in good condition for the dyno.
- Bring a list of every modification, including part brands.
Tell your tuner your goals
Daily driver, weekend track car, towing rig or drag build — the right calibration depends on how you use the car. Being specific helps the tuner choose the right priorities.
What PTEB checks on arrival
Every PTEB tune starts with a pre-health check and a baseline run. If something isn't right, we'll tell you before any power is added.
