How Remote ECU Tuning Works (and When It's the Right Choice)
· 1 min read · PTEB Tuning
Not everyone can bring their car to a Melbourne workshop. Remote tuning lets owners in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and regional Australia get a custom calibration built from their own car's data.
The process
- Confirm compatibility for your model and engine code.
- Read the stock ECU file and send it to the tuner.
- Receive a calibration written for your car and hardware.
- Datalog real driving and send the logs back.
- Receive revisions until fuelling, timing and boost are right.
Remote vs dyno
A remote tune is calibrated from your car's own logs, so it's far more tailored than an off-the-shelf file. A dyno tune adds controlled load testing and is the better choice for Stage 3 and flex fuel builds.
Your stock file is safe
The original ECU file is saved before anything changes, so the car can always go back to factory.
